Martine Braeckman

Ceramic artist inspired by nature, imperfect forms, balance and harmony.

Born in Heusden on 6 June 1955.

I am passionate about ceramics. As someone who feels closely connected to nature, I often use colours and forms that reflect the natural world around us. Every piece begins as a simple lump of clay, but by bringing my hands and feelings into the material, it gradually takes on a new form and meaning.

Working with clay gives me deep satisfaction. It allows me to explore my inner world and translate it into tangible artworks. My ceramics therefore reflect both my love of nature and my search for balance and harmony.

What makes my work distinctive is my dislike of perfect forms. In my view, nobody and nothing is perfect, and that belief is present in my ceramics. My pieces are not intended to demonstrate perfection, but to leave room for imagination and interpretation. I believe beauty is often found in imperfection and in the stories each viewer discovers for themselves.

I invite you to explore my work, to discover this journey through forms and colours, and to find your own interpretations within the imperfect beauty of my ceramic creations. Each piece is an invitation to think, feel and discover your own meaning.

Thank you for visiting, and enjoy discovering my work.
