Dizaura does not intentionally request more personal information than is reasonably needed for the relevant purpose.

Why we process information

We may use personal information to:

  • answer enquiries and communicate with prospective and existing clients;

  • enter into and administer contracts;
  • provide consultancy, mentoring, training and other professional services;
  • administer workshops, creative activities, exhibitions and events;

  • maintain the security and normal operation of Dizaura websites and online services.

Legal bases

Depending on the situation, Dizaura may process personal data because:

  • the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract;
  • Dizaura must comply with a legal obligation, including accounting, tax and regulatory requirements;
  • you have given consent, for example where consent is the appropriate basis for a newsletter or other optional communication; or
  • Dizaura has a legitimate interest in operating and developing its business, responding to enquiries, maintaining professional relationships, protecting its systems and legal rights, and communicating about services, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully before withdrawal.

Artist content and images

Artists decide which profile text, images and links they provide for publication. Dizaura publishes this material as part of the relevant network, gallery, website or promotional service.

By providing content for publication, an artist confirms that they have the necessary rights and permissions for Dizaura to use that content for the agreed purpose.

If you want personal information or an image featuring you corrected or removed, contact contact@dizaura.com. Copyright and content-use matters are also subject to the relevant Dizaura terms for the service concerned.

Service providers and recipients

Dizaura may use third-party service providers where reasonably necessary to operate the business and provide services. These may include providers of:

  • website hosting, infrastructure and security;
  • email and communications;
  • form processing and administration;
  • payment processing and banking;
  • invoicing and accounting systems;
  • professional accounting, tax or legal support;
  • delivery or logistics services; and
  • other technology or business services used for a specific engagement.

They receive only the information reasonably required for the relevant purpose and are expected to handle personal data in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.

Dizaura may also disclose information where required by law, court order, tax authority, regulator or other competent authority.

International transfers

Some service providers may process personal data outside Belgium or outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, Dizaura will rely on an appropriate legal mechanism for the transfer where required by data-protection law.

Cookies and technical data

Dizaura websites are designed to work without advertising cookies.

Hosting, infrastructure and security services may process technical information such as IP address, browser details, device information and request logs where necessary to deliver, secure and maintain the website.

If Dizaura introduces optional analytics, marketing or other non-essential cookies that require consent, the relevant consent mechanism and information will be provided before those cookies are used.

Your browser may also allow you to manage or remove cookies.

Retention

Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected and for any additional period required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Retention periods therefore vary according to the type of information. For example, accounting and transaction records may need to be retained for statutory periods, while information connected only with an unsuccessful enquiry or expired service may be deleted sooner where there is no continuing reason to keep it.

Public artist content may be removed when network membership or the relevant service ends, subject to reasonable technical backup and record-retention periods.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request deletion of personal data in certain circumstances;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis;
  • receive certain personal data in a portable format where the right to data portability applies; and
  • lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority.

Requests concerning personal data can be sent to contact@dizaura.com.

Dizaura may need to verify your identity before acting on a request where this is reasonably necessary to protect personal information.

Belgian Data Protection Authority

You may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority if you believe your personal data has not been handled correctly. You may also contact another competent supervisory authority where applicable under the GDPR.

External links and third-party services

Dizaura websites, artist profiles and articles may contain links to third-party websites, payment services, social platforms or other external services.

Those services are operated independently and have their own privacy practices. Dizaura is not responsible for how an independent third party processes personal information once you interact directly with that service.

Relationship with Dizaura's terms

Dizaura's General Terms and Conditions for Quotations, Services and Sales contain additional provisions concerning contracts, confidentiality and personal data.

Specific terms also apply to the Dizaura Artists Network and Artist Website service.

Updates

This notice may be updated when Dizaura's services, technology, business activities or applicable legal requirements change. The current version is published on this page.
