Mieke Geltmeyer

Mieke Geltmeyer works as a largely self-taught artist, following the feeling of the moment in painting and ceramics.

During my professional career as an optician, I always remained closely connected to art. Artist friends were often given a place to show their work in my business. When I ended my professional activity, more time and space became available to let my dormant creativity develop freely.

After moving to Kalken, I also gained access to my own studio, where I can experiment to my heart's content. For me, art means following the feeling of the moment.

I am largely self-taught, supplemented by courses at independent academies in Ghent, at De Toverdoos, for a period at the Leopoldskazerne under the guidance of Cecilia Jaime, and with the Koninklijke Kunstkring Were Di in Zele.
