Marina Ploegh creates ceramics characterised by clean architectural forms, structures and neutral tones.
I enjoy working with clay, a passion I discovered fifteen years ago. Perhaps rather late, but it has since become an essential part of my life. I make sculptures, vases and, really, whatever inspires me at that moment.
Often these are clean, architectural forms, lines, planes and structures that I can explore endlessly. Every piece is a new experiment.
My work is usually white or made in neutral tones. I avoid loud colours because I like the form itself to speak. Clay gives me calm, space and creativity. I enjoy every part of the process and hope the finished work can create a response in the viewer too.
